About us
The Eyes & Optics Difference

State Of The Art Technology
We utilize state of the art technology to provide you with the best possible care during your comprehensive eye examination. Our technology allows for early detection and diagnosis for optical eye health.

In store lens laboratory
The ‘one size fits most’ technology doesn’t always apply, this is why most of our spectacles are made on the premises. This is old school and for very good reasons…. one of the fastest turnovers in the industry and tighter quality control!

30 years experience & still going strong
After meagre beginnings in a renovated miners cottage in 1990, we have grown into an experienced purpose built building with 7 highly qualified and friendly staff.

The local difference
At E&O we make it easy for you. We have Medicare online to refund your rebate and HICAPS to access your private health insurance. The architecturally designed building is wheel chair friendly, we have online appointment bookings and a night safe if after hours pick up is necessary. Our onsite lens grinding facilities results in quicker turnaround.

Premium product range
We pride ourselves on stocking the best quality lenses, frames, contact lenses and sunglasses. We have sourced frames from around the world with both function and fashion in mind. All of our ranges have a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty.

Sharing our knowledge
For more than 20 years, we have been involved in educating the next generation of optometrists and sharing our knowledge with others in the Optometric community. Our involvement is though mentoring, hosting final year students and giving lectures & talks.

About us
State of the art technology
Eyes & Optics has a simple mantra in making sure that on your biannual consultation new technology will be part of your visit. We invest in our state of the art technology both in the consulting room and the optical laboratory. We aim to enhance your vision by using the latest technologies to detect and diagnose underlying eye conditions such as glaucoma and macula degeneration as early as possible.
Some of our most recent advancements:
EIDON
Retinal scanning with best resolution which has superseded digital camera imaging. It has the capacity to penetrate through dense media such as corneal scarring or cataracts.
OPTOS
Optos has revolutionised how we view the back of the eye as it takes a 200 degree retinal scan, through a 2 mm pupil in 1/20th second. Perfect for assessing Diabetic, hypertension, trauma and retinal detatchment disease.
Zeiss Cirrus OCT 500
Zeiss Cirrus OCT is an instrument capable of scanning below and within the retina and is an essential diagnostic instrument for optic nerve disease such as Glaucoma and all macular disorders. It also has the capacity to determine corneal thickness, helping in the diagnosis of Glaucoma.
HUMPHREY VFA
This Visual field machine is considered the Gold standard in Ophthalmology. It is essential in Glaucoma, stroke and neurological management as well as assessing capability for patients to hold a private motor vehicle licence.
SLIT LAMP DIGITAL BIOMICROSCOPY
Allows magnified images of the front surface of the eye to be documented which has helped the diagnosis and treatment of corneal ulcers, lid disease and foreign body management.
